It’s fair to say that some recruiters are leveraging LinkedIn well and others are abusing it. Ask any Auckland-based systems engineer with SCCM skills right now and they’ll probably tell you they’ve had a number of InMails from local and Australian recruiters, some of them outright spam – “I have a job. Call me.” That’s not how you’d approach a top level candidate at TechEd… Successful endeavours in social recruitment have been more about engaging in conversations over time, the provision of good and original content and networking through interaction in groups.
